I was not barking up the wrong tree. It is the first novel Of Jeffrey Archer. After a long time I read an English novel. I was into Kafkaesque kind of readings for sometime and I was like a cat on a hot tin roof in recent times. There were moments in this novel which gave me heebie-jeebies. I just managed to complete this standing on my head.
I was told that Archer almost had this kind of bankrupt situation in his life and it was the inspiration. I just wonder how come anyone can think of writing a novel when he was bankrupted. What Next ? I picked Kane and Abel this time. I just think whether that I can finish this soon.
After a long time we are planning for a stag party. Believe me, it is not a storm in a teacup and we are not lackadaisical either this time. Wait for updates dude…

I'm Here
I have lot to read but always have very less to write. I just finished reading S.Ramakrishnan's இலைகளை வியக்கும் மரம். It was like traveling from down earth to sun. I really don't know what else a good writer can write. He wrote about the old stories of the earth. I is believed that a monkey and crocodile story would be the oldest story fo the world. I just googled and got this picture.

What are the reactions from the stolen house people? You must read to know about that. They might not lock the house and the lights be switched on at that particular day after the stealing. We can see many people giving advices as how to find out the thief. The Poojas carried out in Ganges of Banaras. There are some strange Poojas involving dead bodies which will be illegally taken from Ganges. The reactions of a bachelor tenant in Chennai who is changing his house often. There are lot more stuff to take to our heart like Therukoothu, Jesus, city life od older days etc.
I fee that this is nothing to write home about. But i wanted to keep my blog alive :)

I read one more book named பூமியின் பாதி வயது by A.Muthulingam. He is a Srilankan Tamilian and now lives in Canada. I first read the article about this book in Thinnai by Jeyamohan. He was quoting the author as popular one and joining the list of Kalki and Sujatha. I felt is true to a very good extent. The book contains the list of essays which comprises of his thoughts, readings, experiences and translations etc. as he quotes in the index. The first article is about Deepa Metha's Water. He is very much critical on that film. He is quoting beautifully that the Water is not allowed to flow freely as it should be by its nature.

It is so old a story, Yet somehow always new

We always see the best phtogrpahs taken in Sahara african malnourished children. We all know that african countries are facing a very big malnourishment problem. But we indian, going to top the best economies in the world sooner or later as they say, assume that our children are very well nourished. But the truth says something else. Around 30 countries out of 37 countries in sahara countries report lower levels of child malnutrition than india.47% of indian children below three years are malnourished agianst the 30% malnutrition in sahara african countries.Madya Pradesh, Bihar and orissa tops the list in the malnutrition rates in the world.
No need to mention the population of these three states so the numbers will be on the worse side again.
We always assume that the reasons may be the per capita income, inequality of distribution of icome, and income poverty. But the experts not only renounces these but call these things as only myths. Our indians some time say that international standards of measuring the malnutrition is not suitable for indian standard. That means our indian children will do no grow normally as the other country children. But in india the well fed children grow normally as the aduately fed other country children. So the measuring standards are correct. The food production in india through agriculture is definitely enough to avoid malnutrition.
The malnutrition among indian children starts with low birth weights. It necessarily means that they get malnourished in the womb. The other serious reason is the poor nutrition status of women. We can still dig here for more facts. The early age of women marraige is also a cause for this. Then comes to our freedom of women. The experts and their data says that the malnutrition is better where women enjoys greater freedoms and autonomy. The other factor is the care of the child. Failure to feed supplementary foods at the appropriate ime leads to malnutrition. In addition to breastmilk, solid and mushy foods needed for a well nutrioned child from the fourth month of birth.Proper education is also a must thing to avoid malnutrition.
The need of the time is look into the reasons correctly and solve them. We defintely have to solve this worst neglected form of human deprivation. We have mountains of food at one side but still this issue is more than mountain size.Nutritional deficiencies affect the lives of Indians at different ages.In battling against "so old a story" of deprivation and hunger, we also have to take note of the fact that the policy problems can take forms that are "somehow always new". We need to address issues of economic growth and distribution, of healthcare and basic education, and the very old problem of gender bias and neglect of women’s health.
Tamil writer Charu criticizes the malnutrition in his konal pages with his style. He and his friend went to some school nearby Dindivanam in Tamilnadu. Students talk about their ambition of becoming doctors and engineers. Charu asked his friend innocentaly what is need for 7th or 8th grade students to talk about them now.His friend replies that you should not tease the poverty of india. The reason is that students are actually 12th grade students. So malnutrition is omnipresent in india.
